Ghazals and Nazm – both are known forms of Urdu poetry. They compliment to each other. Both forms of poetry show similarities but infact there is a significant difference which distinguishes these two forms of poetry.

Nazm displays a smooth flow of rhyme and rhythm and is written in verses. These verses are usually in continuity to maintain a flow of thought. Ghazals can show independent meaning in verses there can be change in the display of next verse. Nazm usually displays love in its topic. The whole focus of poetry is around description of love.
